17th century German painter, Jacob Marrel, lived in Utrecht during the Dutch Golden Age and is best known for his wonderful watercolours of tulips in bloom – reflecting the current 'Tulipomania'. With pearlescent pinks, fresh fuchsias, grassy greens, delicate dragonflies, beguiling butterflies and of course, tulips, this bag is representational on one side, abstract on the other.
